Book readings – past

Friday the 13th turned out to be a lucky day for me. I had the pleasure of reading in Farrell’s bookshop where I was warmly greeted by Dermot and Maeve who run the shop. Everyone who came to listen to the reading were handed a goody bag as part of the ‘Books are my Bag campaign. Bottles of wine were held within the funky gift items that Farrell’s sell and the reading attracted a warm lovely gathering. I read a part of the chapter, ‘A Tale of a Simpleton’ and a question and answer session followed afterwards. I expected there to be that silence, you know the one I am talking about, but I was thrilled with the intelligent and thoughtful questions that were asked, in particular one up and coming young reader asked me if it is a book about olden times or modern times. I replied it is both. So in closing I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along, to Dermot and Maeve for supporting me and to Brenda Drumm for her amazing photographs on the night. Check out Farrell & Nephew on facebook and give them a like.
